5.0 out of 5 stars Deliciously Sweet and Funny Romance 15 April 2013
By D. Lester - Published on
I just finished reading this book and I LOVED it! If you haven't read this entire series (Always the Baker, Never the Bride #1; Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride #2; Always the Designer, Never the Bride #3) I would strongly suggest you read it. You need to read these books in order to follow the characters and the storyline. Book 4, Always the Baker, Finally the Bride, seems to be the final in the series, but I hope the author will revisit them in a follow up novel eventually. I could read about Emma Rae, Jackson, and all the other great characters in this series for a long time to come.

Emma Rae is a fantastic baker and a diabetic! But she creates the best sweets and she decorates the best wedding cakes ever. This story continues the romance between Emma Rae and Jackson Drake, who is the owner of The Tanglewood Inn, located in Roswell, GA and being a Georgia girl myself, I love to read books set in our State. You won't believe some of the things that happen while planning their perfect wedding.

Sandra Bricker writes a wonderful story, delightful characters and is perfectly hilarious. You'll smile, giggle, laugh out loud and even shed some tears in this book. I would love to read this entire series again, and for me, that means it's very much worth your time.

This is a Christian fiction, but the Christian aspects is not overpowering and I believe anyone could read these books and enjoy them. If you enjoy laughing, crying, and being totally captivated by characters in a story, then you'll love this series.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from NetGalley and Abingdon Press for my honest opinion and did not receive any compensation for a favorable review. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

Although, I must disclose that maybe I did receive compensation, not the kind you can measure..but the kind of compensation that readers get when they are totally drawn into a book, drawn into the characters lives, and root for them, and cry with them, and laugh with them. This book did my soul good! And that is compensation enough. I would love to buy this entire series for my church Media Center.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally she's the bride! 23 April 2013

It's finally here, the final installment of Sandra D. Bricker's popular Another Emma Rae Creation Series and this time around we're brought back to Emma and Jackson and the conclusion to the love story that made us all laugh and cry with Always the Baker, Never the Bride.

I fell in love with Emma and Jackson when I read their story, I then fell in love with Sherilyn and Andy in Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride. Unfortunately I didn't love Audrey and J.R. nearly as much in Always the Designer, Never the Bride but I was eager for Emma and Jackson's story to be concluded.

The first thing I noticed when I opened Always the Baker, Finally the Bride was the voices of Sandra's characters. For the most part they are distinct and I really enjoyed hearing Fee again and nothing beats Sherilyn's passion and zeal, as it just bounces off the page. I laughed alot in this book and if I wasn't laughing, I was smiling.

There is much to like with this book. Jackson's merry-go-round of personal assitanats is very amusing, Emma's inability to create a cake to suit her and Jackson's wedding, Sherilyn's gusto with everything she does, Fee's deadpan humour and many more.

In the end we got to have the wedding we've been wanting since readers met these two and what a joyous journey it's been!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Sweet and Charming Romance 29 May 2013

Sandra D. Bricker in her new book, "Always the Baker, Finally the Bride" Book Four in the Another Emma Rae Creation series published by Abingdon Press takes us into the lives of Emma Rae and Jackson.

From the back cover: Tanlewood turns into a circus as Emma Rae and Jackson head down the aisle...maybe.

We fell in love with Emma Rae and Jackson - as they fell in love with each other. But when it' s time for the diamond to meet the road, Jackson fields an offer to sell The Tanglewood, a move that will uproot this high-flying family act once and for all.

With a dash of humor and two scoops of love, our favorite diabetic baker sets out to accomplish her greatest goal of all: Will Emma FINALLY be the Bride?

I made a mistake and my mistake was that I was not aware of the first three books in this series before I set about to read this one. While Ms. Bricker does a wonderful job of getting all the events of the first three books out of the way you would feel a lot more comfortable with these characters if you had previously read the other books. Having said that let me now say that this is a wonderful, charming romance. Emma is baker who has her own shop and does designs for other people's weddings. Now, perhaps, it will be her turn. If so she cannot figure out what the cake will be for her wedding. Just by looking at the cover with the groom at the top of the wedding cake giving his bride a kiss and her legs sticking straight out should give you a clue that this book is going to make you laugh. Ms. Bricker does an outstanding job of bringing her characters to life and you really want their romance to succeed. I am going to go out and get the first three books in this series so I can enjoy them all over again. I am already looking forward to more from this talented author.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Pump Up Your Book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. 4.0 out of 5 stars welcome to the tangelwood inn 14 April 2013
By harman - Published on
Emma Rae is a diabetic who is the cake designer for the Tanglewood Inn in Georgia. Jackson is a widower who owns the Tanglewood Inn.
The beginning of the book starts with Jackson asking Emma to marry him. He has a moment of panic when she does not want to order the dessert he needs her to order. Emma finds planning the wedding stressful especially designing the cake. She goes through several designs trying to design a cake that represents the two of them. Jackson has his own problems. He receives an offer for the hotel and learns his assistant is retiring after the wedding. She has an family emergency and has to leave for a short while. He has several temps come in to work. (I don't think he would have been so willing to let his assistant go if he knew what he would have to deal with after she left and the temps arrived.) At the hotel Emma meets a spirited young girl named Hildie. She is homeless and living in the hotel. Emma longs to help but what should she do? Emma is also struggling with high blood pressure due to the recent stress. Jackson worries he may lose Emma. Is selling the hotel the right answer? Jackson is not sure what to do. Come with them as they struggle to find the answer.
You will enjoy the journey you get to take with Jackson and Emma and their family and friends. Hope you take the trip.
I received this book from Netgalley for free. This is my honest opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always the Baker 28 May 2013
By Donna McBroom-Theriot - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
We have come full circle with the final book in the Sandra D. Bricker's widely popular Emma Rae Series. Always the Baker, Never the Bride is a charming Cinderella love story, complete with Prince Charming. The story was captivating and centered around a wonderful hotel and bakery.

It is now Emma's turn to marry and she is having a heck of a time planning her wedding. She has one decision to make and that is the wedding cake, but like the saying, "the cobbler's children have no shoes," she cannot make up her mind about the perfect cake and the wedding date is nearing. Toss in a little runaway munchkin and the story upheaval is born.

The story is sweet and intoxicating, as all the other books in the series were, and if you enjoyed the previous books, you will definitely want to read this one. I, for one, am going to miss Emma.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
