This was a lot smaller than I was expecting. The honeycomb/gel holder is held on by friction and is tight in some positions and loose in others. Loose enough that I thought it might fall off. The snoot itself is a very tight fit on the flash unit - so tight that I had to use force to fit it to the flash head. In my mind force and expensive photographic equipment do not go well together. My suspicion is that it is the thickness of the paint coating that is the problem. The coating is one of those with little particles incorporated so you get a rough speckle finish but it is thick enough to reduce the inside diameter of the connector.
It might be a fraction of the price of the Bowens' equivalent but it is not cheap. The three stars are because it is not high enough quality in the areas where it matters. And where it matters is where it connects with other stuff.
I've never had another snoot to compare it with but it creates a spot of light and that's primarily what I wanted it for. One word of warning. Being metal it gets very hot within a short space of time when the modelling light is in use.
