i bought this product about three years ago. I have spent at least 6 months backpacking with it, and it has spent the rest of the time being carted around my house.
It is extremely well designed and robust. There is little that can break off or be scratched.
It has been 100% reliable for me.
Added to that, it is very compact - perfect for taking on trips away!
The sound quality is remarkable for a little speaker. Obviously, at full volumes, it struggles a little with the bass, but overall the sound is spectacular given its size. I would have thought the newer models are even better, but this would please most people. I have played this little speaker at music festivals and in large dormitories to twenty people, and it has been able to produce a good level of sound. Its surprising!

I bought this item so I could have music on holiday - it lasted one day! The speaker did not charge my i-pod. I returned it as instructed to Amazon's supplier, and their service has been terrible - they acknowledged receipt on 27 June, and I still have not received the promised replacement, despite being told I would receive it in three days. I can make no comment on the speakers, I haven't been able to listen for long enough, but my experience would make me loth to recommend them. I've tried to e-mail and fax my complaint to them but both systems are down - why doesn't that surprise me?
