Product Description

A is for apple, B is for bat, C is for crocodile, camel and cat . . . Here is a unique and special alphabet book. This very simple text is about two friends, Sue and Nick, who like very different things but are still best friends. They take us through all their favourite things from ABC all the way to XYZ . . . X can mean kiss, Y is for yoghurt and yum and yuk too, Z is for zoom, goodbye, Nick and Sue!

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn your ABC, 27 April 2009

with a bit of a rhyme!

Perfect for children learning to read, as the book is BIG and bright, measuring in at c 30 cm x 24 cm.

Paperback format this is a superbly illustrated ABC book, opening and closing with a cheery wave from Nick and Sue - the two characters featured throughout.

From the back cover:-

'Take one apple, add one bat,
Mix in a crocodile, camel and cat,
Take a pinch of Nick and
a sprinkling of Sue....
It's alphabet ice cream, just for you!

A rollicking, rhyming, fun-packed journey through the alphabet from an award-winning team....'

Front cover has the duo with their alphabet ice creams, and opens to 30 high quality pages in vibrant colours.

Bold, easy-to-follow and read along with text, with an added bonus of a rhyme at every third letter!

'Aa is for apple
Bb is for bat
Cc is for crocodile, camel and cat
Dd is for digger
Ee egg starts with e
Ff is for fork and fish fingers for tea.......'

Xx is dealt with as used for a kiss!

Each picture has scope for 'what else can you see?', and it is easy to encourage those who already recognise their alphabet to think of other words relevant to a particular letter.

I have seen some great artwork from progressing readers, especially the attempt at copying the two whales!

Other books in this excellent 'first' series:-

Red Rockets and Rainbow Jelly (Colours)
Faster, Faster, Nice and Slow (Opposites)
One to Ten and Back Again (Numbers)
