Youri Jigounov is a Russian graphic artist; he also illustrated a collection entitled Les Lettres de Krivstov (Le Lombard, 1994). He created AlphaA" with Renard, depicting a Russia torn by the power struggle between secret police and the Russian mafia.

This is the 3rd book from the "Alpha" character. The last two books were one large story, but this book is a complete story in one single book so can be enjoyed on it's own. You really don't need to know anything about Alpha from the previous editions other than he's a CIA agent. There's a great deal of scene setting based around the fall of the Berlin Wall, indeed the man himself doesn't even appear until page 16. The 15+ rating is probably about right, with quite a lot of shooting going on and some pretty nasty characters, even I felt a bit upset for the child towards the end. The artwork is not groundbreaking but for me it's the story that really makes this series worth reading. Alpha is a fairly realistic character and relies upon shrewd judgement to get through his stories rather than James Bond stunts.
