The old barnet seems to have been receding slowly for about twenty years - I`m 36 now and never thought I`d still have noticeable hair at this age. But as the hairline recedes, I`m getting a bit more edgy about it, and thought I should do something. I`ve been using Alpecin since the beginning of August, so six weeks now and feel I can make a qualified judgement.
Has my hair loss stopped? Well, maybe a little. I think there are days when very little hair is lost when I towel dry, and others when it`s much the same as it was. Is my hair visibly different? Again, there seems to be a slightly fuller look - nothing life-changing, but on some days I can feel more positive about it. Does my hair feel different? It isn`t drier, there is no scalp change, and it`s very easy to manage (even though it could do with a cut). Actually, it feels nicely silky after drying. I think it`s important to remember that you should leave it lathered-up for two minutes before rinsing - maybe not doing that is why some reviewers are experiencing dry/flaky scalps?
So all in all, I don`t think there is anything to lose by using Alpecin - I have tried other types of shampoos that make similar claims, but they were much more expensive and didn`t do anything except have a fancy scent. I don`t feel I`ve lost anything by trying this and that there is some improvement in terms of retaining what hair I`ve still got, and cannot afford to lose!
