4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable book 28 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Abandoned at birth and left to die, Sarah Brown defies all odds and survives. The story follows her through her childhood and later goes with her as an adult as she retraces her roots. Although I found this book a little slow at first, once I got into it, it became more interesting. Anyone who enjoys a family saga will no doubt enjoy this book. It is a heart warming story of perseverance and determination and has all the ingredients one would expect in a story of this kind. This was the first book I read by this author but will be looking to read more of her books in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars great read 9 Oct 2010
By Joanie
Format:Paperback
I have read quite a few Rita Bradshaw books now and have gotten to the stage where I've nearly worked my way through them all. I was so pleased to notice that she has a new book due out in December, so that's good news.
I really enjoyed Alone Beneath the Heaven. As with her other books, I found it so readable and hard to put down. She's an excellent writer. Her stories are gritty and real and I love that her heroines are always very moral. I would so recommend her works to anyone who loves stories involving triumph over adversity.
