I dont know how ANYBODY can criticise this album, I have listened to it once and instantly fallen in love with the boys' smooth vocals on some of the best classic songs ever to be written. This is definitely a different style to Westlife's other hits, but that only proves a credit to them in that they are able to extend their talent across such a wide spectrum of music genres, from their classic 'killer ballads' to 'golden oldies'. Once again, the lads prove that the Irish do it best...!! Go and buy it now, its total class!!!

I really don't know how any one can slate this album. It is by far the best album Westlife have EVER produced. It has a mixture of ballads, such as Moon River and I Left My Heart In San Francisco to the amaing up-beat Clemintine to the absolutly sensational Mack The Knife, to which the boys do more justice than Robbie Williams ever did! There are only two songs on the album which both Robbie and the Westlife lads did, so there is no way you could compare the two albums. All four lads take part in lead vocals, so you get to hear what Kian and Nicky can also produce! An amazing listen for people of all ages!

They've proved they can sing ballads, country and western etc. and now they're trying their hands at swing - and its absolutely brilliant! Clementine was a delight and Mack the Knife was truly inspiring. I was completely convinced by this album and summon everyone to buy it. I know a lot of people will be sceptical about it but it definitely deserves a listen at the very least!

Westlife Album Review - Allow Us To Be Frank
Westlife are one of the biggest pop bands since the Beatles, since they started out in 1999 the band has had massive chart success with 12 number one singles, 5 number one albums and World Wide selling Area tours. Now after five years, a Greatest Hits Album and one member down the guys are back with a whole new flavour "The Ratpack".
The new album is named Allow Us To Be Frank and shows a whole new side to the pop phenomenon. After losing band member Bryan McFadden in March 2004, the guys wanted to come back with a different feel to show their fans that they are here to stay and they have most certainly done that. The album has classic tracks from the Ratpack era such as "Aint that a kick in the head" and "Fly me to the moon". People have always written off the guys, saying they are just manufactured but this album brings the band into a whole new world of music and shows their raw talent.
The album has a kick start to it like an Olympic Runner of their marks with a classic opening track, "Aint that a kick in the head". It shows all the band members voices in a totally new way and allows them to be frank with there ever growing public. The album starts with a bang and fades into the old routine of simple love ballads but from the old stage. The song "Smile" lets the members Shane Flian and Mark Feehily take control and show the public their true voices that they have held back for years. There angelic tones reach notes no body has ever touched since the classic verses were first recorded back in the 1950's.
In the next stage of the album the band-let member Shane Flian take lead vocals in the track "Let there be love" which is best remembered in the UK for being on the British Beef advertisement.

Music elitists are at it again - knocking back people who want to have some fun with classic tunes. In this case, the usual music journalists and folks over here who just don't get the whole point of this album.

So what's the point, you ask. It's to do something different, to have fun, to freshen up both the band and their fans after the departure of Brian McFadden and to re-introduce these old favourites to the younger generation. I, for one, don't know much about these sort of music but nevertheless enjoy it when the ingredients are right (ie. perfect scene, good chat, warm tea and a piece of chocolate cake), so I'm really glad when I hear these tunes being sung by a band with brilliant vocals, because that means I'm finally giving these classics a proper real chance. They can't be classics for nothing!

Yes, Westlife have taken risk in doing this album, but they have also excelled themselves. The vocals are well-polished, the arrangements are magical and the tunes are beautiful. Westlife never claim to be the new Rat Pack. They're still a pop band, giving their modern pop interpretation of the classics. The songs are finger-clicking, toe-tapping and hip-swaying.

Don't judge before you give it a listen. It's the perfect album for this Christmas while we stay warm inside with our loved ones (or turn it up and sway while barbecueing if you're at the warmer side of the world ;))

I was very sceptical about this album, but I needn't have been. It is great. The vocals on "The Way you look tonight" are particularly good and Shane's voice really suits the style. Obviously all Westlife fans will buy the album but I hope others give it a chance too. It is a real feel good cd and I defy anyone to be able to listen to it without tapping their toes or singing along. I think Westlife work even better as a four piece in the studio and on stage. It would make a fantastic stocking filler for pretty much anyone!!
