5.0 out of 5 stars Non Dummy 1 Jun 2010
By Beejay
Format:Paperback
I am not a novice vegetable grower, but I needed a reference book that I could check up that I was doing the right thing. I found the book quite a good easy read full of information.

Every common vegetable was in a section of its own and easy to find! The section about a flagging allotment I found very interesting and informative.

I would recommend this book to novice and experienced gardeners!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars A willing Dummy 7 April 2010
Format:Paperback
I've had a look through the book and so far I'm impressed. It does have information I've seen elsewhere, but it seems easy to read - in fact, you could just dip in and out as you need to. The big problem as far as I can see it - there are no pictures! OK, some diagrams, but really it isn't the same. I know the pictures would increase the cost, but in a gardening book I'd have thought some visuals/colour would be desirable. I share an allotment and we are not complete beginners, but nonetheless I do think there are some handy hints we will be using.

4.0 out of 5 stars Allotment Gardening for Dummies 14 July 2010
Format:Paperback
This is not a shiny paper book. It lacks pictures and may not wear well kicking around in an unkempt garden shed. The book is, however, what it says it is. Whilst embracing expert knowledge, clever dodges and tasty cooking ideas it issues sound advice for the first time gardener and for the complete management of a fruit and veg allotment.
