5.0 out of 5 stars A really good book for the new allotmenteer !, 12 Mar 2009
By Nobody Famous (The West Country, UK) - See all my reviews
I got my allotment last year and someone kindly bought me Andi Clevely's "The Allotment Book" and also this "Allotment Seasonal Planner".

I'm very impressed with both of them and they compliment each other very well. I can strongly recommend them both if, like me, you're fairly new to growing your own or you need some help in improving your skills. I've looked at a few other similar books too and I think these are about the best I've seen... I was just lucky to be given them.

The Allotment Book tells you how to do the basics and how to get started. The Seasonal Planner assumes you can do these things but helps you organise your work so that you learn to do the most important things at the right time.

The Seasonal Planner also includes some recipe ideas for your fruit and veg which are quite a nice addition, but the book is first and foremost about how to plan your time on the allotment to help you be successful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Allotment Seasonal Planner, 4 Mar 2009
By Charlie (North Warwickshire, UK) - See all my reviews
A little bit like Andy Clevely's previous book: "The allotment book" with more recipes. Still a good buy though if you do not own the other one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really useful Book, 9 Aug 2009

I have gardenened, like many of us for years. Good practical growing information. I had not really looked into many gardening books but this one I beleive is great. I always have surplus of many things and the recipe ideas are really good for changing or presenting in another way, something I had been doing the same for years. I like the planting cycle tables too. Lovely photos.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value
I bought this for a friend who has just started to grow her own veg. She says that it is in continual use and uses it more than any other gardening book she has. Read more
