This is a reasonable book if you are only interested in clipping. For the most part it ignores techniques, such as hand-stripping, thinning and blending, which is better for the dog and gives a more professional finish. It constantly refers to Oster clipping blades (I assume there is some sponsorship deal going on here) rather than the more widely used brands such as Andis.
I received this as a free gift along with other equipment that I bought but would have been disappointed if I had paid for it myself. There are much better books for the money.

I'm studying Dog Grooming to City and Guilds level 3 at college and hoped this would be a useful reference to jog my mind now and again.

The illustrations are poor, the instructions are vague (would be utterly useless for the inexperienced groomer)and the information is at times biased and flawed (in the instance of hand-stripping, for example). Clipping equipment refers only to the Oster brand and offers no conversion for blades. The book has been poorly constructed in that the inside of the cover is loose and messily glued.

The only good thing I can say for this book is that it's ring bound design would make it easy to work from.

This was money I really couldn't afford to have wasted. I wish I'd splashed out on Notes From the Grooming Table instead. Although it is American it is a useful reference for the experienced groomer (though certainly not a teach-yourself guide).

I didn't fine that this book was instructional enough and perhaps less should be more, less breads more detail but then I guess it wouldn't be all breeds.
