A fascinating account of the birth of the group Focal Point and the music scene in the sixties. A very talented group which deserving of much more recognition. The book begins with an insight into the early music scene around Liverpool by Paul Tennant of Focal Point, and provides glimpses into what it was like to be there at such an exciting time and pivotal time for music, with references to the Beatles playing small venues such as the Casbah Club. A vital and important book for anyone interested in the Beatles Apple Records label and Focal Point. The book includes a chapter on the superb single that was eventually released on Deram 'Sycamore Sid' and the background story behind it. Very well written and packed with an account of the hectic life around growing up in Liverpool the sometimes chaotic but creative eclectic Apple Records label. Highly recommended, with a complimentary comment from Paul McCartney on the reverse, whose role in the career direction of Focal Point is also well documented in the book.
