All a Twitter 25 Sep 2009
By Tami Brady TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Twitter is all the rage. It seems to be the new Facebook. Everywhere you see people madly creating 140 character (or less) messages on their Blackberries.

I have to admit that I have been rather hesitant about Twitter. I keep getting images in my mind about receiving messages about what someone had for breakfast or that they were going to the washroom. I know for a fact, I don't have that kind of time to waste.

However, after reading All A Twitter, I'm beginning to see that Twitter has far more potential. Yes, there are going to be people just wasting time on Twitter but there are also people who really have something interesting to say. The key is discernment, both in writing tweets and in who you choose to follow.

OK, so I'm not the youngest or newest social media person on the Web however I turned to this book for some help and guidance and it hasn't let me down.

Tee Morris walks the new user though the whole range of Twitter issues from understanding what Twitter actually is, to setting it up on your PC, talking, sending your first message (Tweet), working beyond the website (this includes a whole range of mobile phone applications - iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia and so on) and then goes on to explain how to build your followers, your "value" and your business on Twitter (phew).

Tee's book also contains some great hints and tips all accompanied by either "A little birdie told me" (hint and tip) to the "Fail whale says . . " (when it can and does go wrong).

I've worked through Tee's book chapter by chapter and it's allowed me to make those tentative steps into the world of Twitter; I've also come back to it time and time again so this is definitely NOT a one-use manual.

A truly exceptional book, I highly recommend this as it contains a whole range of help and guidance to help the new user master this in initially crazy place.

Having read all manner of "how to" books in the past, this one really sets the standard for what a great "how to" book should be!
