Format: Audio CD
I'm surprised that no-one has yet reviewed this excellent compilation. A Jethro Tull Greatest Hits album doesn't need that much said about it - if you're reading this you probably already know that they were a great band and will almost certainly know many if not all of the tracks on this set. It is worth saying, though, that it's a terrific compilation. My Jethro Tull is all on vinyl (mainly from the Aqualung/Thick as a Brick sort of era) and I wanted some highlights on CD. This is a very good sample.

All the great songs are here - Witches' Promise, Aqualung, Locomotive Breath, Life's A Long Song... there's a long list of classics. There is also a very nice selection of less obvious album tracks - what tipped me into getting this was the inclusion of the beautiful Wond'ring Aloud, for example - and also some later stuff which I was much less familiar with and am very glad to have.

Experienced Jethro Tull listeners won't need me to tell them this is a great collection (although it is) and if you want somewhere to start with one of the great and truly inventive bands of the late 60s and 70s and who have kept it up since, this is a fine setting off point. Warmly recommended.

I agree with Sid, cannot understand why this compilation is not more highly regarded. Jethro Tull seem to suffer from a surfeit of compilation and best of Cd's, but this is the best one. Will not comment on individual tracks, Tull fans will know them anyway. All the best tracks from all periods of Tull's career, in Two well filled (+78 min) CD's - brilliant! I notice that "All the Best" is a series, check out the crowded House CD also.

I am not a massive Tull fan. I'd liked some of what I'd heard so wanted a good compilation to add to the music collection. This is a fantastic mix of tunes across what seems to a Tull novice to be all their best albums. You get a lot for you buck on 2 CD's. With compilations of this size there's usually some diamonds, some Ok and some rough. But I like pretty much all of it. If you like Tull at all you won't be disappointed with this little gem of a find. Thanks to the other reviews for sound advice.

This is the best Jethro Tull compilation ever with some great tracks from all the years although I suppose you cannot put everything on that was great like Budapest etc. However excellent sound quality and great packaging. Could have had more info in booklet on the tracks and in chronological issue order per album not mixed like on this one. That is why it only gets 4 stars.

For choice of material this is excellent. The price is also very good. Have been a Tull fan since the 60's and had most of their albums on vinyl but wanted a digital version with a good range of their songs.
