I have read a few of Susan Andersen's books and, in my opinion, this is the best one yet.It has all the elements you would expect from SA: Sizzling sexually chemistry between Dru and JD, an excellent array of secondary characters - two of whom deserve a book of their own, a story line that doesn't let up from page one and is funny, sexy, thrilling and highly entertaining. JD is your basic "bad boy" turned good who inherits a share in the country lodge owned by Dru's family, and Dru is the "good girl" who is initially suspicious of him, but comes to see the inherent goodness and love in JD that he doesn't seem able to see, or believe in, himself. Butch is JD's best friend from his wild days but I think the less said about him the better - I don't want to ruin the plot. Tate is JD's incorrigible ten year old who is desperate for a father figure and can hardly contain himself when JD arrives and lets him do "men stuff" that his mom would have no idea about. I couldn't put this book down and I certainly didn't want it to end. So, if you're a Susan Andersen fan, and even if you've not read one of her books before, you should definitely buy this and hopefully you too will be "ALL SHOOK UP".

4.0 out of 5 stars Susan's Sizzling 22 May 2001
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
"All shook up" is a sizzling romance between bad boy JD and single mother Drucilla. It snaps along at a cracking pace and is well writen, fun and sexy. Perfect beach read for the summer, light hearted girly book to read and pass on to your friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor 25 Mar 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book contains so many faults I can't express them. Here are a few to be getting on with: The characters have no depth, being stereotypes, a page of exposition and back story on every character at the moment of their introduction, and the reliance on cliche rather than story-telling. The book can be summarised as follows:a man who broods silently a lot and mistrusts women; a woman who is afraid to open up to the man because of the force of her attraction, once-bitten-twice shy syndrome, instant electrical attraction expressed as antagonism, irrational misunderstandings, unopened letters etc. A tedious pulp-novel, I cannot see why anyone would waste their time on this.

5.0 out of 5 stars romance, even for cynics 10 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Despite having always prided myself on the worthiness of the novels I have previously read there has never been a book that I have enjoyed more. I found the characters delightful and the manner in which Anderson prolonged the inevitable relationship of the two main characters almost endlessly inventive. It's brilliant. I loved this book. I'm hooked.

I found the characters delightful and the manner in which Anderson prolonged the inevitable relationship of the two main characters almost endlessly inventive. It's brilliant. I loved this book. I'm hooked. Along with another book "HE NEVER CALLED AGAIN", I'm hooked.
