4.0 out of 5 stars Misunderstood Experimentalists 4 Mar 2005
By S. COLE
Format:Audio CD
Easy to cast them off as another Brit-emo band, there's something far more jagged and progressive about this. The Shellac-loving Geordies' tunes don't instantly appeal. Like most debuts this year, take Reuben for example, the start of the album doesn't bode well. Infact, when I requested 'All Roads To Fault' at a rock club, everyone cleared the dancefloor! It's songs like 'First Mater Responds' that will stand the test of time. Codename even managed to receive great respect after replacing Head Automatica last minute on The Used tour. Their bravery involved in that situation deserves recognition and this EP bodes well for their up-and-coming new release. Don't discard these boys, they've got the pedigree.

4.0 out of 5 stars At last! Something new! 6 May 2005
Format:Audio CD
The first i saw of YCIM was the "schteeve" video on MTV and was impressed by the innovation of the music. i later heard Justin Chancellor of Tool plugging them and decided to check them out, and was certainly not let down.
Songs like "four three" and "lions then donkeys" will appeal to fans of the founders of Emo music, Sunny Day Real Estate. Whilst they sound a little like a collage of a sound you've heard before - they cut into you like no other band ive heard since i heard SDRE.
The only reason i have elected to award 4 stars instead of 5 is he feeling that the album is only a start to something better, almost like the band warming up for something bigger. i hope the new album does live up to the potential generated in this innovative, experimental, exciting and powerful EP. At last a British band thats not embedded up the metaphorical retro-posterior and actually churning out a new sound!

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG 23 April 2004
Format:Audio CD
I'm putting this band forward as one of my top five of the year... whati've heard of them so far blows my mind. It's taken me about 3 months tofind anything of them and that kinda annoys me a bit but hey never mind. They sound really inventive, and pretty gritty. They've brought me out ofthe annoying 'sound alike' time we seem to have been going through in allrock music. Whilst they do sound like some other bands, as is innevitableafter so many years of music, they add their own qualities with muchpanache. Only good things will come

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 19 May 2004
By djdinky
Format:Audio CD
First heard Milo when I saw the video to 'All Roads to Fault' on MTV. Thought it was stunning and couldn't wait to hear the full EP. Was lucky enough to get to the launch party as well, and had a stunning night. An amazing live band, it was so exciting to see them thrash around such a small stage. Awesome stuff!
