You should know going in this is a rerelease of 2 previously published works. I had read Ethan and Rosie's story before, and thoroughly enjoyed the reread. I had not read Riley and Regina's story, and enjoyed that one very much, as well.
Ethan and Rosie have known each other forever, and Rosie is definitely in the friend camp as far as Ethan is concerned. Until the night he has way too much to drink, and he and Rosie end up in his bed. While nothing happened, suddenly Ethan can't stop thinking of Rosie, and not in a "friend"ly way.
Rosie cracked me up. She was so straight forward and a little bossy. Once she declared her intentions, Ethan didn't really stand a chance. Watching Ethan struggle with his and Rosie's friends' closeness to Rosie, and the jealousy Ethan experienced, was hilarious. Ethan was as blind as a man can be to what was staring him in the face. Lots of funny moments in Trapped.
In Riley, Regina, who we briefly meet in the first story, is convinced she is being threatened, but the police don't agree. She goes to Riley, who owns a gym, to get self-defense training. The threats escalate, and Riley can't stand the thought of her being alone. He volunteers to protect Regina, who isn't sure she wants to be protected. Very independant, is our Regina. Add in the 4 lb killer chihuahua,Butch, and wackiness ensues.Loved, loved, loved how Riley interacted with Butch, by the way!
Riley is an A+, #1 Alpha Male. He is take freakin' charge, roll over anyone in his way, alpha. Regina does her best to hold her own against him, which perplexes Riley. He fails to see why she won't just do what he wants her to do. Poor Riley!
Regina is set on her own course, and determined not to lose herself. Riley was totally devoted to her, though, even though he didn't really go into their relationship looking for a long term commitment. I loved how Regina let Riley take charge when it made sense, but stood her ground when she thought he was going overboard.
Also loved the friends, Buck and Harris. Anyone know if they ever got their own stories? I looked through her back list, but didn't see anything,
Bottom line - Time and money well spent. Lori Foster books are like romance novel crack to me. I am so addicted!
