Enjoying the promises of God,

Outstanding and detailed book.Obviously well researched. Will spend many happy hours reading through with my bible at hand. Chapter divisions helpful and relevant.Will probably buy another in the series. What wonderful promises God has given us to claim and enjoy.
Only disappointment is the low cost paper and slightly old fashioned font used throughout the paperback book, a little small for me to read for any length of time would like it larger and better quality paper. Satisfied customer.

Comprehensive, but organization could be better,

To be fair, this is an excellent compendium of all the promises of the bible. However, it suffers from a somewhat encyclopedic approach, that is, it is chock-full of information but not eminently readable. As a reference book, it suffers from the lack of a useful index. That leaves the only other alternative, which is to endeavour to read it cover to cover. The latter is not such a ridiculous thought; after all, the promises of God are so exciting that they should be fully devoured. Unfortunately, again, Lockyear's presentation of the material makes this a difficult task. It is a pity, because I am sure there are many, many gems to be found. The accompanying commentary is also sometimes very insightful. Alas, after this, I am still searching for a book that classifies all the promises in the Bible - all 8,810 of them - in a simple manner!

Rarely do I find a book that disappoints like this one did. The interior pages are like newsprint - a cheaper quality paper than a traditional paperback, and the text is formatted into two columns per page, making the font size very small.
There seems to be no division on the promises, so it would be difficult to find anything easily. After spending a few hours with it, I'm frustrated and am now searching for another book to replace this one. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful:

I have several of Dr. Lockyer's books...all very well researched and comprehensive. "All the Promises of God" outdoes them all! Although the Bible itself holds a promise in every verse, this book helps me to look for specific promises, the Who/What/When/Where/Why for application, in an easy-to-read format. Love it!
