Format:Audio CD
I saw an advert for this CD and decided that I had to have it. The album is excellent and is a must for any music collection!
On searching for the title on Amazon I discovered two editions - one from 2005 and one from 2011 (Digitally Remastered apparently - although surely this would have happened on the 2005 version?!?)
I decided to pay for the more expensive 2011 copy - How stupid was that! When I received the cd, it came in a cardboard sleeve and sure enough it said that it was made in 2011. However when I removed the cd from the slip case I discovered that the disc and case insert state that it is infact just the 2005 release with a shiny new cardboard case! This cardboard case is apparently worth around the same as the cd itself since it nearly doubled the price of the original release.
My advice - if you're looking to buy this album, don't bother - buy the original 2005 version. It's cheaper and is the same CD!

I saw what another reviewer had said about the outer sleeve having a 2011 date but the inner disc having a 2006 date. I thought perhaps it was a one off error so decided to order the 2011 'remastered' version.
Mine was exactly the same as the other reviewers so I decided to phone Sony Music and find out what was going on. I received an email back the same day telling me that the 2005/6 disc is exactly the same as the 2011 disc and there has been no remastering for the 2011 release. So the disc you buy was NOT remastered in 2011.
However the disc does contain all of ELO's best work and the sound quality is fine. If you love ELO then you will not be disappointed. The only alternative I considered was The Classic Albums Collection but that was hugely expensive when compared to this greatest hits CD.
So the bottom line is that whether you order the 2005/6 version or the 2011 version you will be getting exactly the same CD, the new one only has a new card cover slip.

Contains many great songs. Jeff Lynne wrote some brilliant and very original stuff and must be one of the best British composers of all time.

Amazon does it again. CD arrived very promptly. Best of CD's are the best. Can't wait to listen to the CD at Christmas time with the family.

Fantastic album, well recorded. ELO are one of my favourites band since 1974. This album contains the best songs of this virtuoso band. I recommend this CD to all fans.

Timeless classics
Im remember listening to these tracks through my teenage years and it is great to relive so many memories. ELO's music has not aged and is a firm favourite of our 10 year old. Read more

nice expensive cardboard cover
