Cameron Spence may be the best SAS writer out there. Having served in the Gulf and Balkans, he certainly has the credentials. Spence sheds new light on the covert role of the SAS in Bosnia in the mid-90s, a very critical and dangerous time. Spence then spends the last portion of his book discussing the fate of a small SAS forward observer team trapped in Goradze. This story in and of itself is a gripping read-- even if Spence is telling the story second-hand. Taken together with Nick Parker's No Escape Zone, a reader gets a very detailed picture of the atrocities, ethnic hatred, futility, and hopelessness of the Bosnia War. I hope we see more books from Mr. Spence.
