Cracking gig this, 3 CD's and the DVD all excellent. Nice for the tribute concert to be before the death of the artist ! Greg Allman and the Allman Brothers band have been a huge inspiration to a more than one generation of budding musicians now and while many still miss Duane, make no mistake the band can still put in an awesome performance. The 2 tracks they perform here at the end of the gig, Dreams and Whipping Post are superb, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes really rise to the occasion. At a running time of 2hrs 40 mins the concert is great viewing, I particularly like these gigs that bring artists from different genres together. It really is only the media that have any need for music genres. Others that deserve special mention? Taj Mahal, Robert Randolph, Vince Gill, Susan Tedeschi, Dr John, Not a bad track on here really.

This is a truly fantastic show from beginning to end. A marvellous array of musicians performing Gregg Allman's finest songs. I just can't stop watching this one.
Highlights include Taj Mahal; John Hiatt; Martina McBride; Eric Church and Jackson Browne - the latter with Gregg himself playing Melissa & These Days.
Allman looks and sounds great. A must have in any serious collection.

A very good celebration of a great artist. I Love the Allman Brothers in all their incarnations. Gregg Allman is a true rock n roll icon. He has seen it, done it, worn the t-shirt & married the celebrities (Cher was a former wife) and still lives to tell the tale.
This album is just a celebration of the greatness that is Mr. Gregg Allman. It is basically a live covers album of Gregg's solo and some Allman Brothers, with Gregg sitting in, by many of his great music peers (Dr John, Jackson Browne, Taj mahal, John Hiatt to name a few). 26 great tracks of joy and great, great musicianship.
A must for all Allman Brothers fans or anyone looking for a great live celebrations of bluesy jams.
Also if you are looking for a further insight into this great artist, check out his autobiography "My cross to Bear" a great read.

I kept promising myself I'd go to the Beacon, next year, always next year, and damn it,now I've left it too late.Still, some consolation in a 2cd set tribute to Gregg(I know you can get a DVD version, but I like to listen to music, not watch it...and the novelty wears off pretty quickly,I find).Anyhoo, top notch performances from all, some I know,of course, others I'm not familiar with, but all acquit themselves exceptionally well here.Shame Warren and Derek wanted to leave the Brothers, but the door isn't shut on a reunion,so I hear...any way you slice it,though, the Allmans will be around for a long time yet,as long as there are recordings, and people to appreciate them. This few, this happy band of brothers......

OK, I am an Allman Brothers fan, going way back, but this album has just got to be one of my all time favorites. Sometimes live performances are a let down, but this has been brilliantly recorded and being live has just added to the total feel of the music.

Great show great video and even better CD.Even though there is a really varied line up on this Gregg Allman tribute show. All the performances are strong. With Taj Mahal and Sam Moore been a personal favorite.
The sound and film quality and just superb and this would be a good starting point for a Gregg Allman newbie better than any greatest hits.
