5.0 out of 5 stars A bit sad, but amazing!, 13 Sep 2008

The story is a bit sad, but what a wonderful movie! Quite simple actually, but it's containing so much! It's a perle of a movie, and Christian Bale delivers a perle of a performance, hopefully never to be forgotten! He's so intens, heartrending and amazing as Bobby, and wauw he's really good at crying! I can't say that about many actors, in fact I can't really think of anyone else, because a lot of the really good actors fail at crying. But I couldn't help myself from crying when ever he did, he's just so sweet! Personally, I'd have to say that this is yet another performance that should have gotten him a Oscar. Watch this movie and, yeah, well even though it's a little sad, somehow Bale just makes you feel and think positiv, and feel, well "light" and warm in someway...it's amazing and certainly one to watch!!

Filmed in the UK, I even watched a scene being filmed down in Cornwall, just one problem, never released in the UK. Had to search a long time for this film, got it from the USA, how mad is that?

4.0 out of 5 stars DVD All The Little Animals, 1 Sep 2009
By

All The Little Animals was originally a book by William Walker Hamilton who was a neighbour of mine in the town of Airdrie Lanarkshire. He was a quiet boy who as a child suffered from ill health. I was surprised when I learned he had written a book ,but unfortunately never read it. I think the film now on DVD reflects Billy Hamilton,s quiet nature and his love of animals. I enjoyed reading it and saw Billy Hamilton in the character of Bobby Platt.A fascinating film. Unfortunately Billy died as a young man and was probably unaware that his book had been made into a film
