brit-psych-folk-trio 19 Nov 2011

This little known british psych-folk trio may surprise you. Tony Doré wrote and provided lead vocals for the majority of their songs. Caroline (Caro) and John Clark provide vocal and instrumental support. Their self released album, "All on the First Day" (1972), for many years proved elusive to even the most determined record collectors. They recorded this entire project on a two track and pressed 100 LPs. Each album was hand painted. The album began changing hands in Europe for large sums of cash in the 90s and early 2000s, inspiring a re-release. Most tracks include simple male-female two person harmonies. Acoustic guitar, electric guitar (with wah-wah, phaser, and fuzz) and bass are used throughout the LP. "Eclipse of the Moon" includes a percussive Jaw Harp and slide guitar. Tracks to check out: "Snowdon Song", "Sargasso Sea", "There are no Greater Heroes", "Hole in my Heart", and "Forever and Ever".
