Product Description

Book Description

An in-depth history of Jungle/Drum & Bass, the most exciting dance music to come out of the UK in recent times. This underground sound now receives international attention and is fronted by stars such as Goldie and Roni Size. All Crews is a journey through this music and features interviews with the scene's top artists. However, it also delves deeper and looks at the pirate radio stations, labels, crews, promoters and ravers that form the backbone of this fascinating, exhilarating and truly original culture.

Whether you were there or not, if you have an interest in the unique history of British dance music and the place the jungle/D&B scenes has than you will love reading this book. Like the jungle/D&B music at its best it's a high speed race through the people, places, scenes that made up a scene that's approaching 20 years deep (yeah,it's that long). I myself was away from London at University in the early '90s when it started hitting hard but with 5 brothers (!) I used to come back to town to be hooked up with my Kenny Ken, Top Buzz, Roast etc mixtapes and jump in the back of a transit van with my brothers to hit them outer London raves where it was going off. Since then the love affair has continued with my TDK 90 mixtapes of the finest Groove, Fabio, Bukem, Photek, Kenny Ken, Top Buzz, Bristol crew regularly dusted off and always sounding fresh.

Read this you will definitely rewind this!

If you are a real Drum and Bass listener then there is no other book for you. This is a real life journey through the eyes of the author about the industry. It takes you from the very beginnings to almost present day, and touches a vast amount of topics including, Producers, MC, Drugs, Pirate Stations, the lot.

The style in which the book is present is also brilliant with different type fonts simulating the changes in the mucic, as the DJ moves from one tune to the next.

Upon completion I felt as if the party had ended and was thoroughly disappointed in have to leave.

But don't just take my word for it. READ IT!!
