Excellent autobiography of the days when racing drivers competed for the hell & fun of it, not for the sponsorship. Exploits both on & off-track are well-covered!
Innes makes it clear that once the money started being the key to F1 that was the time for him to exit.
Very entertaining read but slightly spoilt by the large number of typographical errors throughout. Looks as if it has been typeset but someone who does not have English as their first language.

A very good read for those interested in motor racing as it was in the 1950's and 60's which appears to be much more casual and fun than today in spite of the horrible risks the drivers faced. Perhaps this is the reason for the immense popularity all around the world for historic racing today. As an insight into Innes himself, who I met briefly on a joint project, I felt it brought across the flavour of the man very well. A few silly mistakes here and there but all in all I didn't want to put it down.

The autobiography of one of the World's most underestimated racing drivers.
The anecdotes and stories are unbelievable by modern standards. He really knew how to enjoy life; racing, flying, shooting, fishing.....
There are no characters like him left.
