Product Description

Filmed at a sold out Riviera Theatre in Chicago in March 2010, Alive In The Windy City is the first Stone Temple Pilots live concert to be authorised for video release. The band are in top form and the show both looks and sounds spectacular. The concert was held shortly before the release of their recent Stone Temple Pilots album and the tracklisting combines new songs interspersed with their classic hits. This is a great live concert by one of the most successful rock acts of the last twenty years. 1) Vasoline 2) Crackerman 3) Wicked Garden 4) Hollywood Bitch 5) Between The Lines 6) Hickory Dichotomy 7) Big Empty 8) Sour Girl 9) Creep 10) Plush 11) Interstate Love Song 12) Bagman 13) Huckleberry Crumble 14) Sex Type Thing 15) Dead And Bloated 16) Lounge Fly 17) Piece Of Pie 18) Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart

This DVD is awesome!!!

The band are on form here and Scotts voice is near perfect! The set list consists of greatest hits which lasts about an hour and twenty minutes, starting with Vaseline all the way to Trippin on a hole in a paper heart!

Granted, Scott strutts across the stage like a drunk at your local boozer, but he somehow makes it work!! Your eyes never leave him and as soon as that deep vibrato style vocal kicks in, you can only forgive his 'Mick Jagger' dancing!!!

You don't find bands like this anymore nor a man who was born to be a frontman!!

As I say, this is amazing! The vocals and guitar are nice and clear and DONT clash and not once did I think like I normally do 'Ahhhh, why couldn't they have the guitar just a little louder?' its perfectly recorded!!

The only thing I have noticed but its no biggy, is I THINK. . . . 1 or 2 tracks have had the vocals re-done as it goes a little outta sync! I could be wrong but if im not, it really doesn't matter and you can't really notice it, it still sounds live so. . . . . =]

I recommend if you like any kind of rock music, give it a try =] Its VERY entertaining!!!! Its just a shame its all just fell apart again!!!

Enjoy

3.0 out of 5 stars Great band, someone help the singer please. 12 July 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Anybody with even a passing interest in this band surely knows the past drug mis-demeanours of the lead singer Scott Weiland. I personally loved this band in my formative years and probably always will so I think I can give a review of this concert.
Truth be told, the musicianship is faultless, Dean, Rob, Eric and Scott nail it on every song, music wise it's hard to find fault. The problems for myself arise in the spaces between the songs when Scott speaks, the man needs help or more help than he is receiving. Drugs, alcohol whatever he is under the influence of he needs helps. Decent concert but just felt sad about Scott to be honest, just a puppet going through the motions now. If your a long time fan fine still worth a watch.
