Product Description

Introducing UNACO – the United Nations Anti Crime Organisation – an elite team of agents who battle the world’s deadliest criminals. When the mission looks impossible, the world calls upon UNACO.

The most ingenious criminal in the world has come up with his most spectacular exploit, to kidnap the mother of the president of the United States and hold her and the Eiffel Tower to ransom.

He hires for his team:
• a top weapons expert, who can steal and use the newest, most secret military equipment
• the best cat burglar, who can scale any heights
• a man whose extraordinary strength and ingenuity will conquer any obstacle.

Faced with this audacious crime of the century, the world’s top politicians can only turn to UNACO and its team.

This was actually much better than I expected. I hadn't heard of the book before, but apparently theres a whole series of them, all written by different people after one writer, Alistair McLean, wrote the first few. It is a thriller about an organisation called UNAC, who has a variety of spies / experts who infiltrate criminal gangs. These "experts" have skills in certain things, e.g. breaking into buildings, climbing up things etc. In this story the criminals are planning to blow up the Eiffel Tower, and the American President's mother, if he doesn't get a ransom in time. PLus he has these laser guns which he has stolen from the Americans. Theres not really much to the book, but its a nice little adventure, and gets quite exciting towards the end! Recommended for a nice quick read.

I read this years ago as a paperback. I am pleased it is now on Kindle. It was the first of Alistair MacLean`s Unaco books that I read and as with most Alistair MacLean books it has a good plot, good characters and is still a very good read. I hope more of these books are soon available on Kindle.
