Review

This is what happened to Bridget Jones after she married Mark Darcy and got up the duff! I wish I'd had a book like this to read at this very scary time in my life... --Elaine C. Smith

Aberdeen Press and Journal, 14 November 2003

Her diary is a Bridget Jones-esque, unexpurgated, honest and very funny account of her experiences.

I heard Alison Craig talking about her book on BBC Radio this week and then saw the book and bought it.
It is side splttingly funny as Alison Craig talks so openly about becoming a Mum and turning from a woman in control to a large, topless one out of control.
I am the mother of twins. They're one year old and I love them dearly. When I first came home with them however I didn't know how to look after them or what to do. I stayed awake all night worrying that I wasn't mature enough to be a Mum. How many others feel the same way? Millions. That's how many this book deserves to sell - it is the light at the end of the tunnel.

My friend gave me this book as I lay at home with a 6 week old baby feeling lost and exhausted. I haven't read anything for 9 months and when I started I honestly couldn't put it down. It had me laughing my socks off. It is the first time I have ever read a book that is so candid and has made me feel so good about myself.
I am going to buy a copy for everyone in my post natal group and anyone I see in the street with a child!
The NHS should make it compulsory reading for everyone who ever has a baby. Brilliant!

Giggles galore 4 Dec 2003
By Joanie
Format:Paperback
Don't think for a moment that you have to have endured childbirth to enjoy this book! It might be recommended reading for all Mums-to-be but as someone on the outside of the Band of Mothers , I still found it a hilarious and honest account of the joys of entering the mystical world of maternity frocks.

Alison Craig has a fantastic knack of seeing the funny side of everyday situations and turning them into a ripping good read.
