How can you judge a film before you've seen it? I saw the film afterwards and it was so loyal to the book you would have thought McEwan wrote the screen play. Beautiful acting all around, and the strangeness of Briony is translated flawlessly onto screen (it's that type writing sound...)

As for Pride and Prejudice, that's a matter of opinion, you'll probably find 90% of the people said no to your review being helpful because you state such a thing as fact. P&P is actually my favourite film of all time, but what has that got to do with the novel 'Atonement'? Yes, I know it's the same director, but what has a film director got to do with a book?
