This is a fast paced science fiction horror film with a lot of action. It may be a recent edition to the dvd collection, however it is a very old film, and simple budget techniques are used. The storyline itself could be said to be a little confusing. In a faraway space station prison, a commander (Jan Michael Vincent) prepares to execute a galactic villian Kol (Ross Hagen). This is to be the revenge of the commander for all the pain he has suffered at the hands of the evil man who slaughtered thousands in his time. However, luck lies on the side of the villian, and a visiting general finds the capitol punishment cruel and unnecessary, and Kol escapes. The commander must once again hunt down the enemy across the galaxy in the hopes of bringing him to justice and avenging the deaths of his loved ones.
The film stars Jan-Michael Vincent, John Philip Law, P.J. Soles, Dawn Wildsmith who all play reasonabley good roles.
The film is directed by Fred Olden Ray who directed a whole host of entertaining science fiction and horror films, from Deep Space and Armed Response in the 80s, to Inner Sanctum and Caged Fear in the 90s.
The downfall of this film is it has no special features, and only lasts for 90 mins, which might suggest another dvd title would give you better value for money.
Regardless of that fact, I award Alienator a solid * * *
