Product Description

"Alien Wind from the Stars is a mind-bending trip, and that's an understatement". -- EDITOR

"Readers of science fiction, as well as readers who enjoy war stories and engaging fiction, will enjoy this book." FOREWORD CLARION REVIEW

“Alien Wind from the Stars” explores humanity’s first contact with an alien race. The plot involves the arrival of a mysterious alien vessel at a battle site of a civil war, throwing both waring sides in a state of awe and confusion.

The book creates a mysterious atmosphere as the characters in the story come to grips with the monumental event that is occurring in their midst. Why are the aliens here? Are their intentions peaceful or are they here to conquer and enslave?

The novel has a strong focus on character development; ingeniously it employs a number of sub-plots that help develop the characters’ personality and imbue the reader with a sense of their personal history, thus getting a better understanding of what they are feeling while they are experiencing this unparalleled event.

In summary, this book has all the right ingredients, which together create an enjoyably delicious literary experience for the reader, a powerful character development, a very engaging atmosphere in the middle of a country’s tense conflict, and a monumental historical event that will open new horizons for humanity.

An interesting take on first contact 20 Feb 2012
By Bob - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The author does a very good job of exploring the impact of first contact and the impact on a civil war. This novel could have easily followed either the civil war or the first contact themes and masterfully integrates both. The main characters are well developed; their motivations clear and the cause of the civil war are firmly established. Secondary characters are fleshed out and their impact on events fully described. Only one alien is met and that is handled in clever manner. This story emphasizes people, the civil war and first contact provides a context to tell their stories.

Good Literature! 11 Feb 2011
By EmergentPoint1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Alien Wind from the Stars' explores the idea of first contact with an alien race occurring in the midst of a civil war. The book puts particular emphasis on character development and how the characters in the war torn country are dealing with this mysterious occurrence. It has been written in such a way to create unknown and nervous atmosphere, keeping the protagonists guessing, as the story unfolds. The book has been written very well with a strong literary style - typically uncommon in the science fiction domain - making it a pleasure to read. What really makes this book masterful, is that though the book's plot is based on first contact with a non human alien race, the book's theme is actually about us, about humanity - our maturity as a species, our motivations, our interactions with each other, our fears and hopes. In summary, this book approaches the theme of first contact from a fresh new perspective, has exceptional character development, and the flowing nature of how it is written make it a pleasure to read. I highly recommend it.

An Enjoyable Read 20 Feb 2011
By Luisito - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have personally met Mr. Dimitrios Molfetas and he was kind enough to offer me a free copy of his book, Alien Wind from the Stars. I enjoyed it immensely that I decided to buy a copy and in doing so, be able to write this review. It has been a truly enjoyable read. The author has a manner of bringing forth the reader into the ambience of the story. Well written in its depiction of the surrounding environment and character portraits, it transports the reader into another time and place. References to contemporary terms and themes are well incorporated that it shows the author's desire to add a sense of reality into the story line. A highly recommended read for anyone that enjoys a modern science fiction tale. A tale which shows humanity's potential to overcome adversity at all costs and our ability to achieve marvelous feats when acting on idealistic values.
