First off, the head is not as cool as it looks. Istill think its an awesome design and stunning to look at but not as good as it is made it look. The head is made out of plastic, except the lid which looks like acrylic, and the inside of the case where the velvet is where you put in the DVD's. The velvet is ever so soft on the discs, and the head protects them so they can not be harmed inside the head. This is not one of those toys which will dissapoint people because they are far to small, this will appeal for anyone who needs a good decoration in thier room, it really is big. The insie of the head looks really cool, you can see the aliens brain and skull! The head has been very finely crafted, the detail is amazingly good.
The DVD's come in the Quadrilogy box like they usually would, seperate from the head.
Also the films of course are amazing, and the tonnes of extras, including deleted scenes, interviews, audio commentry and many more. Alien: A spaceship encounter a alien ship on LV-462, when an alien is on board, the crew members must survive the threat, a classic. Aliens: More concentrated on the fighting - Ripley has been drifting through space for over 50 years and is found by spacestation, she learns there is now a civilazition on LV-462 and so she returns with the company of some badass marines. Alien 3: The ship ripley escaped on in aliens crashes on a planet with a maximum security prison, she is rescued but learns that a alien was on the ship and that there is a queen inside her. Alien Ressurection: 20 years later some scientists have made a clone of Ripley, this time she's got a lot more attitude, she soon learns that loads of scientists are experimenting on aliens, and they go wrong. Good story, graphics and acting in all four films.
The one tiny promblem is that the lid of the head comes off very clumsily.
I would only reccomend this to serious fans of the alien series (like me) because it does cost loads, it would be a waste for someone who doesn't like them that much.

Firstly I am a huge fan of all the alien films, including the 3rd and 4th films. What you get in the alien quadrilogy box set, just as you would if you bought it stand-alone. The alien head is empty when you receive it. I bought mine when it was limited edition so I got a certificate, however now I don't know. The alien head is about 45cm wide, from my measurements and is coated with velvet inside. The head itself is split into two halves, on is the see through head compartment, made entirely of plastic, which I have to say does come off quite clumsily, and the bottom half is the actual head, again made of plastic, it does not look as good as the picture as it is far more plasticy, but in my opinion it does look stunning, I have had mine about 8 months now and none of the disc are scratched on the inside, the velvet like fabric is very soft on them and with the disc inside propped up, it does look extremely cool and any alien fan will love it.
The films are stunning, the first two films are often hailed as some of the greatest films ever made, the first one is a horror very dark and claustrophobic, extremely tense and beautifully directed, whereas the second one is more action in true James Cameroon style, its fun and at times very tense, my favourite of the series. The third film is slated as is the fourth however I do like them, the directors cut version of the third film included is a lot better than the first cut, its claustrophobic and atmospheric but has a nice plot, its not the all out action you would expect however. Alien resurrection, may not have the best acting or the best looking aliens however its a great action film and worth the watch.
In all I would advise fans of the alien films to buy this if they like the look of it, its a very cool item, I would advise if people to look at it fist as it may not be as stunning as you may think, however I love it although it is very pricey.

This is an excellent set, i agree with a previous reviewer that this set might only appeal to hardcore fans of the films, but it is a really cool item to own. The detail is fantastic, it's quite a weight, and although it might be made of plastic, it has a weird metal finish to it, much like i imagine a 'real' alien might have (not that i give that alot of thought!). It is 'almost' life size, just a little bit smaller maybe, but is still very large, i had to build a new shelf to put it on! and of course as you prabably know if your looking at this, the films are all fantastic (even 3 and resurrection in my opinion are good additions to the franchise). My only problem with this set is that i dont think it's limited edition, and mine certainly didnt come with a certificate of authenticity even though it was purchased from a reputable company, but im sure this wont be a problem for everyone. All in all an excellent and cool addition to any dvd collection.
