This book felt like it was two separate, half-written, main stories wedged between one cover. The cult storyline starts the book and gets more or less written out when it could have been an excellent stand-alone instead of a poorly inserted afterthought. The pregnancy feels like it came straight out of fanfiction, just for the sake of screwing with the parents. Albert's storyline, a case of why bother putting it in since it has no bearing at all on the main disassociated storylines, was skipable without having to worry about missing anything.
Sadly, the writing itself is very good as is the characterization in this book, it's just not very well put together as a package.
Too bad this was the last of the series.
