5.0 out of 5 stars God will take care of you now, sister! 6 July 2012
Format:Blu-ray
First of all, if your only experience of Alien 3 is the Theatrical Version where the alien bursts out of a dog then you owe it to yourself to watch the 2003 Special Edition. With 12 additional chapters it almost feels like a different film. Everything that happens makes sense and there is much more character development. Sigourney Weaver, Charles Dance and Charles S. Dutton give absolutely fantastic performances. Paul McGann is also great as Golic. The only real negatives are some of the special effects, there are a few shots of the alien that leave a lot to be desired.

This is a big step up from the DVD version. Picture and sound are fantastic.

Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alien 3 Is Now A Masterpiece !!! 20 Jan 2012
By Bowiee
Format:Blu-ray
Alien 3 (Blu-Ray) what more can you say this film has had some serious work done not only does it have an extra 30 mins perfectly incorperated into the film, but some of the scenes were changed and extended and much more intense and violent much to the pleasure of Alien fans.

The story is brilliantly portrayed in Alien 3 and i know for sure that lines and scenes have been changed and have never been seen or heard before in Alien 3 and make for a much more solid and freightening story and with no weapons, crazy criminals and straight from the belly of the beast an alien running around it made for one hell of a battle for survival all around.

The amount of work done to the picture quality and clarity and you can see everything it is sharp, bright and flawless picture quality, it is nothing short of an amazing effort and Alien 3 was long overdue for this sort of love and attention and now on Blu-Ray is a masterpiece on its own.

They say its the 1992 special edition this film should be a 2012 special edition.

Alien 3

Buy it, watch It, love It. Trully a masterpiece.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre 18 Feb 2013
Format:Blu-ray
Alien3 is first of all, not a very exciting film. As fans of the first 2 films know, they had you on the edge of your seat.
As if that isn't bad enough, the entire premise is based on a plothole, 'cause the Alien gets in the ship out of a egg, but how did the egg get on the ship?
The only logical explanation for this is that the queen Xeno layed the egg(s) in the end of Aliens, but Ripley caused the queen to rip her eggsack. So she would have been unable to lay eggs, let alone in such a short moment as displayed in Aliens. Something happends to the ship which is displayed very trippy in the beginning of the film. The ship catches fire and they (Hicks, Newt and Ripley) are dropped in a sort of safety vessel whilst being in their cryo-pods. Hicks dies because a ''safety beam'' impaled him, very good design for a SAFETY BEAM to impale him because it couldn't handle a little impact. and Newt drowns.

Ripley lands on some sort of galactic prison which, among others, houses rapists who've not seen a female for years. thankfully for Ripley they got into some sort of mix of a religion and it turned them good, for the most part. They team up to get rid of the Alien.

The special effects are laughable, and the overall movie is pretty boring.
