I'd seen silkymitts in chemists years ago - but was never that sure what they were. Shaving mitt, depliatory mitts etc.

I tried one this evening and I am amazed at the results.
My skin is smoother than it has been in years.
You simply wear the mitt like a glove - hence the 'mitt' part of the name -
and rub gently in circular motions.

I'd never have believed such a painless gentle motion could have removed the hair on my legs. Admittedly it is fine and blonde.
A lot of what looked like talcum powder is sloughed off - apparently is dry skin cells.
For that reason do it in the bath - not on your favourite sofa!

It really revealed much softer skin than I knew I had.

I'll be getting a good supply in.

I was worried how I could safely perform hair removal on my 8 yr old daughter. She was quite hairy and becoming very embarassed and worried at PE time. Not wanting to start shaving her, or use chemical cream removers on her, the Silkymit seemed to be the safest option. (Because of my daughter's young age, I did ask advise from my GP before going ahead.) My daughter soon got the hang of using the mit herself. The broad smile on her face when the hair started to disappear was a wonderful sight. There was slight irritation for about 30 minutes after use, but she is now much more confident at school, and happy to show her legs. It has been about 6 weeks since she used the mit, and her legs are still quite clear, not sure if this is more to do with her age. Good result for my daughter though!

The product is a ring of very fine sandpaper to put over your hand and rub on your legs. The instructions tell you to rub in a circular motion four times clockwise and then four times anticlockwise on each area. When you do this an awful lot of white powder comes off as does your hair. The hair grows back at the same rate as it does when you shave. The sandpaper wears out really quickly though, whilst it worked well to begin with within about three or four goes with one side of a "mit" it stopped working effectively. That said it's a very cheap product so it's up to you!

Having been epilating my legs for a few months, I was beginning to get really irritated by the number of ingrown hairs I found. I've always exfoliated before epilation and I was thinking I was going to run out of options. I tried out Silkymits having read about people with similar problems who had had some success.

The product is essentially a little tube of fine sandpaper through which you can place your hand. I personally found it quite difficult to keep a hold on but I do have particularly small hands so that may be why!

The sensation of applying to mit to skin is not at all uncomfortable (as you might expect of sandpaper!) and you can see the exfoliating effect in the dust that accumulates very quickly.

Unfortunately, I didn't notice any effect at all (I'd allowed the hair to grow back a little before use to see if the hair removal effect was any good). No hair was removed and my ingrown hairs stayed exactly where they were. I do, however, have very dark, coarse hair that I've never even been able to wax successfully, so I imagine that's the problem (this is the reason I give three stars, rather than two. I can envisage much better results with fine or light hair).

One benefit of the mits was that my skin felt lovely: once I did epilate, I could tell the difference, so if nothing else, these things are good for exfolation! They're also very cheap so it may well be worth a try, particularly if you have fine hair.

I like this form of hair removal but have had difficulty finding these in the shops. I am very glad to have found them on Amazon. I would recommend these. They are good for defoliating as well!

This product, is badly described quantity wise. You can buy it on the high street for a third of the price, my advice is don't bother wasting your money.

I first ordered these mitts a year ago. What can I say? My next order will be the third one. I don't use it in wintertime though. I first shave my legs up to my knees then I use the mitt to smooth the skin and remove the sharp edges of the leftover hair. My legs feel amazing and silky. I repeat it every 2 to 3 days.
When I exfoliate an awful lot of skin comes off due to my very dry and sensitive skin - this is one of the reasons I cannot use it more often. I'm a happy camper!

I bought thes but I am not overly struck about them. I would not really say they work.
They just look like smooth sand paper
