Alice J. Wisler lives in Durham, NC, USA, but grew up in Osaka, Japan where her parents were Presbyterian missionaries for 38 years.
Alice's first novel, Rain Song, has a North Carolina, USA--Japan connection, just like Alice does. The novel deals with family reunions, the fear of flying, a mysterious past, and meeting someone on the Internet.
Interestingly, after the novel was published by Bethany House in 2008, Alice met Carl via an online dating site. Their first date was in Washington, DC on March 7, 2009. Carl's mother comes from Felixstowe, England. Carl spent a large part of his life in the UK, The Netherlands, and Germany.
Carl and Alice were married in Las Vegas on 2/7/09 at The Little Church of the West. Everyone loves you when you are married in Vegas, even if Elvis is not present at the ceremony.
Alice's second novel, How Sweet It Is, was released in the spring of 2009. Her next novel, Hatteras Girl, comes out in October. All of her novels take place in North Carolina, and have recipes included at the end.
In addition to writing novels, Alice likes to cook, go for boat rides on Rain Song (a ski boat named after her first novel), and travel.
Her children tease her about talking about her novels a lot, but for the most part, they are supportive and probably proud of her.
