This was a great book, far better than the previous 4 bombshell titles. This is the second in the "Athena Force" series. Darcy Steeles was an abused wife of a powerful, millionaire husband and no one believed her when she tried to get help. Finally, she took her son and went into hiding. 3 years later, she is saving other abused women and living under an alias. She is disguise expert, living under different faces and names. She can't be exposed, because legally she has kidnapped her son and no one believed her tales of abuse before. Then she finds out that her husband is hiding a big secret, one so dark, that if she can prove it, it will free her and allow her to keep her son.

There are two gorgeous men, Jack and Kel, who are after her, one utterly reliable, one charming and mysterious. Unlike the other bombshell titles I've read, there is a well written romance throughout the entire book, plenty of plot, mystery and suspense. I really liked this book, and usually I find Harlequins poorly written. This book was the exception, and is definitely a keeper.

HASH(0x8cac6498) out of 5 stars exciting "tough chick" romance.. 3 May 2005

this is the first Silhouette Bombsheel novel I've read, and it's the second in the "Athena Force" series. In this story, Darcy, the heroine is a master of disguise-on the run for 4 years from her abusive, high profile husband. Darcy tries to maintain some semblance of a regular life but also runs a "underground railroad" of sorts for other abused woman.

All in all, a good action book-I would have given it five stars except the romance, in my opinion, could have been better, and the heroine was a bit aggrevating with her die hard reluctance to getting the police involved-even though big time crimes were being committed.

I'd recommend this short, exciting read to romance fans who like tough, take charge female leads, and equally tough heroes. 4 stars.

I have never been so disappointed in a Continuity series....EVER. I bought the bundles, silly me. I should've waited to ask my daughter, she would've told me how bad she found the whole series. I am new to the HI world, as I used to be a trashy love novel snob, only full length trashy's for me (ha ha). However, I now find that I don't have the patience for long and involved anything. So I purchased this bundle with some excitement that I can have the best of both worlds! Even better is the list of authors who I have read in other genres, good authors.

As my daughter said, "that's what you get for thinking." The storyline begins confusing and while all the Sisters are supposedly united they are all really not and it just goes downhill from there. I am quite surprised some of the authors didn't beg to have their actual names removed from the titles. I can live with the whole Sci Fi aspect of the story. I can even live with the whole "I am woman hear me roar." I cannot live without a defined HAPPY ENDING!!!! Some of the titles are not defined. I have to live with real life every single day, I don't want to pay to see it or read it. If it were a perfect world Romantic Suspense, in any form, wouldn't be so popular. I don't pay to read books where there is any chance of an unsettled ending and some of the books in this series are definitely not defined and unsettled. Life isn't a box of chocolates, but the books I buy darn well better be!!!

Stupid little romance/mystery , part of the Athena Force Adventure series. About a woman named Darcy Steele, a single mother who abducted her now 4-year-old son from his father, a powerful, wealthy, movie producer, and a very dangerous wife-beater. She lives under an alias, Piper Daniels, who owns a beauty salon. Only Meg, her best friend, employee, and baby-sitter, knows who she really is. Then her friend from the Athena Academy who helped her escape from her husband, Maurice Steele, is killed in a car crash, and that sets off two plots, one of which, the egg-gathering one involving Cleo Patra, is just dropped, and never resolved. Odd. And of course there is a romance with Jack. It seems Darcy is a master of disguise, having worked in Hollywood make-up. This was actually pretty good, if very simplisticly written. Fetzer makes sure the sex is done with a condom, and that Darcy forgives her alcoholic mother. But what the point of that whole egg-gathering scheme was, I'll never know. Why was that there? Darcy seemed rather a female James Bond, at least in her martial skills. I could read some more of these.
