having read the reviews on the 500mw model for the extra I thought I would go for this one. I was surprised at the performance I have gone from 0/1 bar to 4 which means i don't have to go my study (which is in the garage) this cold weather and can do all I want in my lounge. Excellent piece of equipment

This product is great if you want to use it on a mac or linux operating system, such as ubuntu - etc but unfortunately I wanted it to run on windows 7. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition and had numerous problems installing the driver for the adapter. The driver kept disabling itself and therefore didn't work properly. I've spent hours scouring the internet for solutions. Some say it's to do with your firewall but in my case it was not, as I uninstalled the firewall and tried installing my Alfa adapter to have no luck. I've also installed the drivers from the manufacturer's website as well as the ra-link website and it still didn't work. I've looked through some forums and some suggest the 1000mW Alfa AWUS036H which doesn't have the wireless 'N' capability but is a few pounds cheaper. I have been in contact with the seller whom has been trying to help me but I think I may send mine back and get another product.

Delighted with this product. The WiFi signal that was coming in at 20% is now up to 70%.
Much better! Using this adapter saved using much more costly solutions. Note! Check out as many different solutions as you can before deciding on the solution that you will invest in.

Rubbish, useless product. DO NOT BUY. It does not give a better signal that a wireless laptop card. Buy only if you don't have a wireless card at all. Read more

Poor, waste of money
