Format: Paperback
This book is fascinating. The author takes the time to explain how Alexander first became aware of stresses in his own body which were impeding his performance as an actor and reciter. Through experimentation he discovered how to use his entire body more efficiently, and how different body parts all influence each other for better or worse according to how we use them. The book explains these techniques in clear sections. It does not claim to be a substitute for a live Alexander lesson, but it has worked for me so far - I followed their advice for using the spine and have had less backache.
