I was born on a farm outside the small village of Falkland, in Fife, Scotland in April 1965. Most of my childhood was spent in Kennoway, Fife. I attended Kennoway Primary School and later Buckhaven High School. At 17 I joined the Territorial Army and served with K (Black Watch) Company 151 Highland Volunteer Reserve. My current occupation is as a Field Service Engineer for an East Kilbride Franking Machine company.
I have always been interested in aircraft since I was a nipper, although I had no inclination to joind the RAF. My particular favourites are the biplane fighters of the RAF during the 1930's. Since 1985 I have carried out continued research into the Gloster Gladiator, the RAFs last biplane fighter. In 2002 I was lucky enough to have had this book published by Mushroom Model Publications. Since then I have had 8 more books published.
Apart from my research/writting I also enjoy watching wildlife, photography, reading and I am currently dabbling in N Gauge model railways and have a British and American layout.
