I've been looking for a decent fly swatter for some time now, and have tried the cheap, all-plastic types you find at the local hardware store, but they are marginal at best. I then tried the OXO brand and while better, it is too stiff to match that of the "old-school" type of fly swatter - the wire handled, mesh face like grandma used to have. So when I saw the A di Alessi Dr. Skud, and read the review, I thought I had perhaps found a better swatter. I actually ordered 2 of them.
In practice, however, they are much too "whippy" in that they are difficult to control the direction and angle of the "swat". The perforations on the face create too much air pressure and the insects just get "blown" away before the swatter can hit them.
So I have to respectfully disagree with the other reviewer who gave the product 5 stars. I found the "old-school" style of swatter - 2 DOZEN for the price of ONE of these swatters, so even if they don't have the durability as this swatter, I've got many more.
