Corkscrew in PA and chrome-plated zamak. A best seller since it was first produced in 1994, the Anna G. corkscrew is a tongue-in-cheek homage to a real woman. Her smiling face has become something of a cult figure over the years, giving birth (so to speak) to a rich family of objects for the table and kitchen in a wide range of materials.

In designing this corkscrew for the Alessi brand, Mendini, originally an architect, has probably changed forever the form and perception of this common kitchenware item into a stylish, iconic triumph of Italian design.
I have had my original Anna G since 1994, and she is still going strong. She is robust, and has survived several house moves around the world; wild parties from my youth, and seems to be toddler throwing proof too!
She graces any kitchen, bar or home setting, and once you have this you are naturally curious about the whole Mendini Anna G collection, and you will want more! So start saving...!
Ergonomically designed for ease of use.
Her long slender arms give you extra leveredge, to unscrew even the most stubborn corks!
The screw is coated to make it extra strong, and it must be good stuff to have withstood the test of time!
Made from thermoplastic resin, and zamak chrome plating, so easy to keep clean...although, if you drink a lot of red wine be sure to clean her afterwards as she can start to stain!
Anna is a cult classic, and an ideal budget present from the Alessi range.
Note: The colour 'red' is actually a deep sophisticated burgundy, as opposed to a pillar box red!
This will be an antique of the future, so use her, don't abuse her and keep her box and paperwork safe.

I bought this as a gift for a wine loving friend and he was really happy with it. It is a very dark red colour, should be called burgundy really!
This corkscrew is a fabulous design however the red that is displayed in the photograph is NOT the red that is received. The corkscrew that I received is a dark burgundy red rather than a bright pillar box red, not what I expected at all. I sadly will have to send this back as this colour looks completely out of place in my new kitchen.
