First Alesis Transactive Wireless Review 20 Jun. 2013
By Paul Wayman - Published on Amazon.com
I got the Alesis Transactive Wireless from Gitar Centr and have had the chance to use it for the last week. Here is what I think of it.

USB Charge port delivers 2.1 amps of power so if you have a high-drain smartphone or a tablet you can be powered.
Bluetooth always stays on ready to pair and it's easy to disconnect right on the portable PA with it's disconnect button.
3.5mm auxillary port is an improvement over the RCAs of the previous Alesis Transactive Mobile, so you have less cords and adapters to carry around.
Sound quality is top notch for it's size and speaker specification. I had my music on at a yard sale with the master volume knob at half and auxillary input gain at two lines before maximum; it was audible into the street. Also it can go loud if you need it, and sound even better!
Battery life lasted all day when I tested it, It was at medium volume for 10 hours and near full blast for 1 and a half before it died.
asthetic detail is pleasing, blue LED lights on the front of the display, power and bluetooth.

USB charge port does not let you charge your device while the portable PA is off. It would have been a nice feature because if you take it somewhere and want to conserve battery or not play your music through it you can not use it as a charge source while its off. A switch for it would have been nice, like it was for the iPod dock on the previous Alesis Transactive Mobile.
No daisy-chain output like it was on the previous Alesis Transactive Mobile.

I had the previous model, the Alesis Transactive Mobile; and I think the Alesis Transactive Wireless is a updated improvement over the old model. I been using this almost daily since it has bluetooth. Also I plan to use the 1/4" inputs, since I play synthesizer and speak through mics. The USB port will definitely come in handy, because I have already used it while playing music in the neighbors backyard to charge up my iPod some when it was low. The USB port itself in right on the top with no protection, so if it rains or gets wet; it would short out the USB port or worse damage the portable PA. The 3.5mm auxillary input is also useful, for those devices that don't have bluetooth.

For me bluetooth connectivity is the main selling point for me, because I have my iPod touch which I listen to with Bluetooth headphones, and I have a GoGroove adapter for non bluetooth devices. All I need to do is make sure the portable PA is on and volume up, and if it is; all I have to do is go into the setting on my iPod touch 4th Gen and connect to it to hear my music.

I would recommend this portable PA to anyone who needs enough sound to for a football field sized area (american 300 feet), and wants it in a affordable, quality form with flexibility over inputs and volume. I would also recommend this to people who go places. Based on the features and capability, this would be a great choice for BBQ at the beach, picnic in the park, and music sharing while moving to the rhythm.
Overall I would rate the Alesis Transactive Wireless 4 and a half stars, taking a half star for the minor cons. Since Amazon doesn't allow half stars, I will rate 4 stars. I will update this review when something on it gets damaged (that wasn't my fault) or it breaks; or after six months of use.

Good sound, and the bluetooth works fine, but it does not have an output jack to connect it to another device

Broke after one month - trashed it. 24 Feb. 2015
By M1Mike - Published on Amazon.com
I am a long time musician and have been using Alesis gear for years. Never had. A problem. My some for this as a gift and the sound was great, battery was great, loved everything about it, but it stopped working after a month. Threw it away. Never again. Very disappointed.

Would have given 5 stars but the handle mechanism is so bad , 4 stars. Otherwise great starter amp for voice and the wireless works great with the Bluetooth.
Perfect for what I do 16 Jan. 2015
By Audrey Live - Published on Amazon.com
This is useful for both my jobs. I teach fitness classes and elementary school music classes. It works great for both. There isn't nearly as much hassle setting up. When I want to play a song, I can just pair my phone or my iPad and away it goes. You can plug in an instrument and 2 mics. For my fitness classes I use a wireless fitness mic which also works perfectly with this device. I can play music and use the mic at the same time, each with their own volume settings, and a separate master volume setting. The wheels make it super easy to take with me wherever I have my class. This is very quickly become my most useful sound device. Would definitely recommend, in fact I already have to a couple other fitness instructors.
