4.0 out of 5 stars Third Time Lucky, 4 Aug 2010

Gillian Knowles (Milford Haven, Wales) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Yale Help Alert Emergency Communicating Alarm DAS1100
First item was simple to set up, but the mains unit would not recognise the fob. Seller replaced very quickly, was most apologetic. 2nd item, Hooray fob is recognised, but mains unit will not dial any numbers..??!!!
I didn't feel this should have been a problem for the supplier so got onto Yale direct, and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing I managed to get another replacement from them. I did not pursue the supplier as I felt this was a problem from the manufacturer.
Once I had the 3rd item I am pleased to say it works fine. My mum lives in an old solid house and the fob has no problem alerting the mains from other rooms. I like being able to reply to the alert so that the person who has activated it knows help is on its way. The second alert number is a mobile and this works fine too.
I am glad I persevered as the unit is great for the price. We both now have peace of mind.
Maybe I was just unlucky, but perseverance paid off in the end and I am happy with the product, even if it was 3rd time lucky.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT FIT FOR SALE, 29 Dec 2010
This review is from: Yale Help Alert Emergency Communicating Alarm DAS1100
Hi,
If you're looking for a safety product for a loved one - don't buy this! Yale used to have a reputation but this product is a nasty and cynical attempt to extract maximum profit from the public. It's very cheaply made - the sort of poor plastic manufacture that we used to associate with parts of Asia - and the recording system is flawed. I recorded an emergency message, configured the device to call me, then my wife, then the emergency services. When I pushed the button to test the dialing function it played a few seconds of my message, then repeated the same section continually without ever dialing out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Love the idea - but haven't got it to work, 11 Dec 2010
This review is from: Yale Help Alert Emergency Communicating Alarm DAS1100
We bought this for my mother in law, and the idea is fantastic, unfortunately we have had three of these and none of them has worked. Yale themselves have sent us one, and been on the phone when we tried to install it but still no good, it won't ring us - so going to get our money back, and buy her a mobile phone for the hard of hearing. Shame as it would have been just what we needed.
