Book Description

** Book #2 in the Slater Brothers series. **

Keela Daley is the black sheep of her family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black. Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride-to-be and the spotlight is solely on her. Keela is a low priority...or so she thinks.

Alec Slater is a bachelor, never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one; that is until a fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair colour knocks him on his arse. Literally.

She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favour from the cocky Slater brother, a huge favour. She needs him to not only escort her to Micah's wedding, but to also pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help Keela, but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body and plans to have it before anyone can say I do.

What he doesn't plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his family when someone from his past threatens his future.

Alec owns Keela, and what Alec owns, Alec keeps.

A bisexual escort...a gangsters niece...an ex's wedding...disaster. Yup.
This book once again tries to justify the authors POV by sounding very similar to her bio...odd. Bad language is explained as being just words, only the intent behind them matters? Really, well most of the time the intent in these books is to express loathing of another character...so again, no approval or justification there.

Sorry this book was lame. The editing went to pot, instead of 'thrashed' we got 'trashed', instead of 'thrust' we got 'trust'. Irritating. The author is not working very hard to publish a polished piece.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fan fiction 9 Nov. 2014

This reads like cheap fan fiction for 50shades. The story line had potential which is what kept me reading but over all its badly written.
Would be passable as a sleezy beach read.

Some humour,repeated plot lines from the first book,too many grammatical errors to forgive,I'm afraid. The premise was contrived and has been done too often.

Foul-mouthed loud women? ----->Check
Men who sleep around? ----->Check
No class or sophistication? ------> Check

>>>>No peeps - this isn't the Jeremy Kyle show, this the next instalment of the Slater Brothers.<<<<<

I could imagine it on Jerry Springer or Jeremy Kyle though - something like "My Bisexual Boyfriend Prefers Threesomes With Men - Can He Ever Be Faithful?"

AN IRISH VICKY POLLARD.

>>>>>>>>>>. Basically, these characters make Honey Boo Boo and Mama June LOOK CLASSY <<<<<<<<<<<<

DNF 20% - what a bunch of TRASHY people.

======================================

This series has taught me to be cautious in future of books with loads of 5*. I downloaded both Dominic and Alec the same day thinking they'd be good.

======================================

All I can say is - it appears both brothers, Dominic and Alec, fancy women who swear and cuss them. >>>>>. Apparently this is a novelty experience for them and turns them on.<<<<<<

If they're that hard up for foul-mouthed, loud, gregarious poorly mannered uncouth women - then they only need to head down to any inner-city Council Housing Estate in the UK or Ireland.

If you ever watch an episode of the Jeremy Kyle Show (UK series) then that's the type of characters this book cultivates.

There's a politically incorrect term for it that has a word beginning with W then Trash.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just like Marmite... You'll love it or hate it. 14 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is my first L.A. Casey and I was drawn into it by reading the first chapter as a sample. After reading that first chapter I thought "this is gonna be awesome" and I immediately 1-clicked the book to inhale the rest but unfortunately the awesome feeling didn't last.

Why?
Well, first of all Keela's "fire and spunk" got old real fast and instead of being spunky she became a rabid witch who wouldn't cut Alec any slack. Her resistance and general attitude just went on a few chapters too long and it royally bugged my nut.
Secondly, Alec does something that just did not sit with me. At all. I don't give a herd of flying monkey's his reason's for it, it was not on and there were ways around it. It was doubly annoying because I'd really liked him up to that point despite him being an arrogant ass with the game of a horny teenager.
Thirdly, you'd never guess this book has been edited. Hell, forget editing, what about a half decent proof-reader? The number of typo's were just ridiculous and it pushed my nit-picky brain beyond my limit. Sure, we all mess up when we write stuff, we become blind to our own mistakes, but that's why someone else should go through it with a red pen before people spend their money on it...

Setting all that aside though, I enjoyed the randomness, the banter and the general Irish-ness of it all. At no point did I feel the author was trying too hard to be funny, she just was funny and she captured the very (British &) Irish trait of showing affection by trading insults perfectly. I also liked the warmth and feeling of family amongst the Slaters.

Keela & Alec have chemistry and their relationship kept the feels coming - good, bad and downright ugly.

3.0 out of 5 stars A strong story, strong characters.... 19 Aug. 2014

I really enjoyed this book, characters are strong and very likeable, I look forward to the next instalment. ..However would strongly suggest to the author to get someone to proof read, there are quite a few errors. To future readers, if your not bothered by the use of incorrect wording, and can auto correct yourself as you go along, then I would recommend this book. From the very first book with Dominic I fell in love with the Slater brothers, Alec has just deepened my love for these characters. To the point I am genuinely concerned about Kane. I would love to give this book five stars, sadly the lack of proof reading stop me from doing this.
