A wonderful book, very well presented with some mouth watering ideas throughout. I couldn't wait to get started. The recipes are clear and easy to follow with step-by-step recipes. The selections are typically italian with perfectly chosen delicate flavours. The fantastic colour photographs accompany each stage of Aldo's creations. I was amazed how my attempts developed into the finished article and as for the Tiramisu! I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Italian food. It's no wonder Signor Sili's is always busy. In time I will be able to experience the delights of Italian cuisine in my own kitchen on a regular basis. Magnificent.

So far very good 15 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I love Signor Zilli's but it's not too cheap. I really bought this book to get his tiramisu recipe but I am going through them all one by one. The recipes are very clear and quite straightforward with pictures of the process and the finished item. Most of the ingredients are reasonably available (though you will likely need a decent Italian deli for many). All of them have been excellent so far. I've done about ten and they turned out pretty much like the pictures and tasting something like you might get at his restaurants - this was on the first attempt. (Except the tiramisu - you will need an electric whisk to get enough air into it).

Nice desserts 16 Jun 2006
Format:Hardcover
I loved the desserts in this book. Most are easy to make and taste gorgeous. The main course recipes were rather simple, but thats just my crib. I own the entire Foolproof Cookery series and I can say that they really are some of the best cookbooks for beginners, easy to understand and do what they say on the cover, i.e. make cooking foolproof indeed !
