I was a little disappointed with this story. I had read her first Alpha Force book, Alpha Wolf, and I couldn't wait for another book about this team to come out. Lt. Patrick Worley first appears in Alpha Wolf but in this story he and a fellow member of Alpha Force are sent to Alaska to investigate a situation with glacier degradation and whether or not it is a result of global warming or something more sinister. In Alaska he meets naturalist writer Mariah Garvey who is there to document the effect these glacier situations are having on the local wildlife. When Patrick's fellow Alpha Force member is found murdered, Patrick and Mariah must figure out who or what is involved. It was a very quick read; however, I felt like this book was rushed towards the end and the answer to the problem of glacier degradation and to Patrick and Mariah's relationship weren't brought to a close as well as I would have liked.
