Born 1953 in Shropshire UK Alaric was an "Army Brat" constantly on the move to new homes. After completing Grammar School in Nottinghamshire, Alaric started working for the British Civil Service on computer systems. Several years later he moved to London to work in the Shipping Industry. From there he progressed in Banking and Finance. Initially based in the UK he subsequently worked in many European countries, Scandinavia, the USA, South Africa and even in Russia. Much of that work involved security projects where large sums of money and valuables needed protection from theft.
In the course of his early career Alaric helped to lead teenage boys in a youth organisation. His hobbies include rock climbing, sailing, walking, photography and cookery.
He and his wife have raised a family. They have now left home. Alaric can be found skulking around Edinburgh and London when he is not travelling. The Adair's idea of a holiday is to keep planning to a minimum. They fly to a country, rent a car at the airport and then turn either left or right at the exit of the airport. Accommodation is found en-route. They return a couple of weeks later.
