Excellent 7 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
This is a fantastic book and is in plain English, easy to follow and extremely useful. It hits the nail on the head.

The book sums up the need for smaller books on more specific subjects and really helps to narrow down exactly what you are looking for.

Can recommend this book enough and intend to collect the remaining books in the series with the hope that they will be just as practical.

Some very good ideas of different ways to landscape your garden. Nice pictures and clear instructions. Found this particularly useful when laying a new lawn.

Nice one Titch! 23 Jun 2010
By Stephen Citynskyj TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is a soft-bound, colourful book about lawns, paths and patios. It explains in simple language, and with plenty of photos, illustrations, tables and so on, how to do just about everything with all three. I bought it to get my little front and back gardens sorted out; for which it has been the perfect companion. I can recommend it without reservation.
I have a gripe about gardening books, which is true of this one, too. It is their tendency to talk about little gardens, but show us the humungous gardens of mansions. The photo on page 30 is a classic - it looks like Watership Down!
The art direction and design of the book are very nicely done. The panels of information, and tips and captions, never overpower the page. However, the photos look a bit doctored to me - the greens are just too bright. On page 59, even Mr Titchmarsh looks a bit green! I can't say that's a printing problem, as elsewhere the colours are fine. They just ease-up with the colour tweaks in Photo Shop!
Putting aside minor gripes, I like the book very much. It is practical, easy to read, down-to-earth, and up to date. Its production values are high, which immediately sets it apart from its many competitors in the overcrowded gardening book market. The price is keen, too. I will certainly look to the other books in this range.
