Product Description

Product Description

The autobiography of Alan Mullery, the former Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder who also managed a number of clubs before moving into the media as a TV pundit. Mullery recounts a plethora of anecdotes about the players and places he encountered during his career.

About the Author

Alan Mullery MBE made his Fulham debut at 17. He signed for Spurs in 1964 and captained them to FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup successes. He won 35 England caps and played in the 1970 World Cup finals in Mexico, scoring in the classic quarter-final match against West Germany. A final spell at Fulham featured a cup run to Wembley, alongside Bobby Moore. 'Mullers' then became a manager, notably with Brighton where he steered them to two promotions in five years, plus Charlton, Crystal Palace and QPR before joining Sky Sports as a successful TV pundit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very interesting read., 25 Sep 2006

This review is from: Alan Mullery: The Autobiography (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my husband for his birthday, but ended up reading it too. A indepth and honest look into Alan Mullery's life. He is very graphic about the ups and downs of his life in and out of football. I would highly recommend this book, an ideal Christmas pressie for that football mad person in your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars FROM THE HEART, 25 Jan 2011
An excellent read covering all of Alan's career warts an all !!. Very graphic when his life hits an all time low. Comes across as a very sincere down to earth family man who could also play bit !! I didn't realise he had played as many internationals. Certainly recommended to all avid Football Autobiography addicts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good shot!, 2 Sep 2010
This review is from: Alan Mullery: The Autobiography (Hardcover)
One of the better autobiographies.
Too many soccer autobiographies, tell you very little about the real person,. It's all too 'look at me' nonsense.
Alan Mullery tells you like it is - grit and all, back in the days when football was football, and they didn't slide on their knees six times a match.
Good shot Mullers.
